For the past nine years we have been sending several shipments of teddy bears to children who have been affected by the trauma inflicted by ISIS on the Yezidi population in Sinjar.
Our teddy bears are taken into villages and refugee camps where they are given to children who, more often than not, have nothing of their own.
In February 2024 Teddy Bears were given to the children attending three primary schools – Al-Shalam (Peace) primary school for boys and girls (180 pupils) . Al-Waleed Primary School for girls (170 pupils) and Al-Waleed first and second primary school for boys (230 pupils)
Shelley Meister, Trustee of One and All Aid who fund several projects run YES, Yazidi Emergency Support, and NABU in Iraq including funding the in-country transportation of our Teddy Bears tells us that:
‘The Teddy Trust has been an amazing partner that has supported One And All Aid as our outreach has grown. The Teddy Trust continues to provide huggable Teddy Bears to our core recipients who are post ISIS genocide Yezidi children in Sinjar, Iraq or still stuck in refugee camps in Kurdistan.
Recently the Teddy Trust has been able to send additional Teddy Bears to start our distribution to non-Yezidi children who are in neighbouring camps. The Teddy Bears are often the only non-essential items these children have and you can see how happy they are to receive them.

And Chris Mack, an independent aid worker supporting the Teddy Trust, recently wrote to us stating:
“This is massive thanks to the Teddy Trust of the UK, and to the Lalish cultural centre and Dilgash Saleem and his team, who distributed the teddy bears for us. The Teddy Trust received these teddy bears from UK schoolchildren who donated them and they have trusted us to get them distributed.
