At the end of November 2 of our volunteers, Stewart and Janet, collected a long wheel based van full of black bags stuffed with Teddy Bears from Nottingham. The gentleman concerned wanted all his Teddy Bears, collected over many years to leave the property together.

Today we finished sorting and packing the last of these Teddy Bears. It has been really interesting seeing the wide variety of Teddy Bears, one had been on Concorde, another was dressed as Napoleon and another was wearing the uniform of an AA patrol man (when they saluted you if you had a badge on your vehicle)

Grand total was 2,635 Teddy Bears (and only 4 needed washing)

To fulfil this gentleman’s wishes we are sending all the Teddy Bears to  YES project in North Iraq/ Kurdistan

1740 left Mid December (4 pallets) and a further 600 on 8th January.

This is the biggest legacy donation we have received so it is lovely that we can fulfil his wish that the Teddy Bears go to a single project to be hugged by children living in difficult situations.
