The Director of Education in Al-Qairawan, North Iraq, recently visited some of the schools supported by YES to commend the work undertaken by the staff and pupils. This area faced severe destruction in 2015/16 when ISIS tried to destroy the whole area so it is brilliant to see the amount of reconstruction both physical building and organisational infrastructure completed.

YES has played a notable part in recreating education opportunities.

Our Teddy Bears are centre stage showing how greatly they are valued by all present. Hard to imagine that these smiling children have lived in desperate conditions for a significant part of their lives.  please note official photos- no smiling
