On 12th May 2025, 1,180 Teddy Bears left our depot in Leominster to start a journey to Post Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa.   First stop a farm near York where they will meet the rest of the cargo to be loaded into a container for onward travel via lorry and then a container ship. The Teddy Bears are travelling with wheelchairs and other physiotherapy aids.

The local Rotary club will facilitate distribution to projects working with traumatised children and vulnerable adults.

To quote the coordinator ‘My heart sang with joy when I read this (2 pallets of Teddy Bears on route) and a huge thank you for sending lots of bears. We will surely have to rent an apartment for them while we decide where they will be distributed to. I actually have already appointed a small committee so we will be giving you some good reporting.’

Currently it is taking about 14 weeks to reach Port Elizabeth from UK so we expect the Teddy Bears to arrive safely in September. Once the Teddy Bears are on board a container ship we will let everyone know so you can track the progress of the ship
